Buck was born in Flat River Missouri and lived in town the majority of his life. He has worked for Pea Ridge Iron Ore Co. in Sullivan, Missouri as a miner for 23 years. In May of 1998, he was promoted to Mine Operations Supervisor. His father, Gene Huff, was also a miner with the same company for 19 years and spent a total of 33 years in the mining profession. |

In 1971, Buck developed an interest in auto racing but not in the competitive end of it. Instead he became interested in the support side of it and built his first race car recovery vehicle. Through the years he built 5 different models, improving on the design each time. You can find Buck every Saturday night during race season at St. Francois County Raceway outside of Farmington, Missouri. |

In 1995, Buck and Bobbie bought what later would become Double B Acres and proceeded to rehab and modify the property, converting it into a horse facility. In the beginning, the idea was to have one or two horses as strictly horse hobbyists. Buck would tell you now, "The whole thing snowballed! Our trainer, Randy Melton, came along with his expertise in horse training and things grew from there into what we have become today." |
Friends who have known Buck for years were quite surprised to find him in the horse business since the Buck they knew never had an interest in horses. At first, it was in support of Bobbie and her love of horses. In time it developed into a shared interest between us." There is one thing as yet to change: From the start, Buck told Bobbie, "Never ask me to get on a horse," and he STILL stands by that today. |
